Horizons Boarding Permission Denied

Firstly, have no intention of boarding. Only seek to LAND in order to claim mission reward.

Mission is completed. I returned to the SAME station the offered the mission which is also the destination target to collect reward.

Status with faction is CORDIAL Have had no legal nor aggressive interaction with the faction.

Faction STATION as wella s those representing security forces for this faction are denoted in GREEN colour.

Am within 7.5km from station

Whenever I requerst docking permission, electronic voice (from MY SHIP - Not a station ATC etc.) states "Boadind Permission Denied."

What must I do to be able to claim mission reward????

Sometimes this can happen if there are no landing pads available. What kind of ship are you in? At outposts for example, this happens to me sometimes if I need a medium size landing pad but none are available.

Why is boarding permission even required when I remain "in-ship" - I only require to LAND/DOCK - Never once have (I even attempted to BOARD any stations.

When permission is granted the message confirms ONLY "Docking Permission granted." The BOARDING permission is not even addressed.

Is the distance 7.5km? I always thought the max distance away was 7km...might well be wrong here though.

cheers, GD

7500 meters, just like everyone else.

I think they changed the nomenclature, because an "outpost" is not cool enough to hang with the big guys.

Install EDD, and it will log every comm, and reasons for being denied boarding.

They are one and the same.

You can't land without a free landing pad.

Wait and ask again a a couple of minutes' time. Or look at the outpost and the moment you see a ship leave, ask again.

For some reason FD changed the greetings for the outposts from Docking Permission denied to Boarding Permission denied.

The issue with outposts is a long known one. Essentially they have limited space, and once the docking bays are full nothing else is allowed to land. Once a ship has taken off you'll be able to land.

Wait until the NPC or other CMDR has left the only medium landing pad that the outpost has.

For clearance:
Landing = station or planetary
Boarding = megaships or outposts

Yes just means the station is full, just keep asking or until you see a ship leave, as some times a pad becomes available on a side you cant see and an npc grabs it.

If you were in the Open, then a Commander could be sitting there hogging the pad, if that's the case, then switch to Solo and see if the pad clears. Although I have had many cases where the NPCs are hogging all the pads. If I have to wait too long, I just reset the instance, log out and back in, usually get a free pad right away if I do that.
