Boarding ship in SRV, it's too tall!

I recalled my ship, but when I try to board it, I cannot get to boarding square, SRV seems to have gained height.

I dismissed it, will try to board at another spot.
I must be missing something?

Not the SRV or the Ship has changed, but the surface. If it is bumpy below your ship and a bump is between the ships landing legs, the distance between surface and ship bottom might be too small.

In this case, dismiss and recall your ship. It might work better in the next landing spot.

Yup when ship came back I was able to board and get back into space
Was my 1st landing on planet, not sure if I will bother with it again, I like space best)

I was thinking the same initially, until I started doing missions on them and found some spectacular sights.

If you are trying to board an Asp, drive in under the rear of the ship. There's more room. The sides are a bit too low.
