I kind of like the new Star Trek movies. So from my point of view, they don't need saving.

Plus I am sure that if Q.T. added gore, plot twist and deep references that nobody gets until he explains them on Late Night Show, only THEN ST would need not rescuing, but a burial.

Really? Its creates an alternate timeline. Didn't go see latest one which says something. Also proves just because u have the latest sfx doesn't beat a good story. The villain in first one was lame. 2nd Was no wrath of khan.
