Clean out those cargo racks and get yourselves ready for a booming bank holiday (extended) weekend!

Starting from today to May 30, Commanders will see an increase to trading profits across the galaxy and the famous engineers will be reducing the material costs for their engineering recipes.

Want the lead when it comes to lasers? Well… visiting The Dweller has never been more appealing!

Date and Time: From today to (approximately) 11:00 AM UTC on May 30.

Bonuses:
  • All profits from trading activities will be increased (the amount of profit will vary depending on what you are shipping and where you’re shipping it to. Rare commodities are excluded from this bonus.)
  • The materials requested for engineering recipes will be at one rank below the existing ones (cheapening the current cost of engineering your modules.) Edit: There are 5 ranks for materials (as can be seen in the Material Trader) and 5 ranks for engineering recipes, and these are two different ranks. This bonus relates to the rank of materials, not the rank of engineering recipes. The cost for engineering a module at Grade 5 will use Grade 4 equivalent materials, not the materials seen in Grade of the engineering recipe of that same module. We have made the changes ingame to reflect the bonus, what you see ingame right now is what you need for engineering a module during this bonus period.

In addition to these ingame bonuses, there will also be a 25% off discount on a huge selection of Frontier Store items during this period. Check it out here!

Haul far and prosper, Commanders!

The is a great initiative guys & I hope such things will become, not a regular occasion per say, but something that certainly occurs enough for commanders to keep an eye out for it. The only thing I would say is that this is the first time that profit from trading commodities has felt at about the right level when factoring in the fact commodity demand & supply dry up when missions don't.

Cool ;)

I don't see any sale on the store actually? EDIT: OK, they are not on the first0 page (available on page 6) ;)

Maybe you can clarify this statement Will. Possibly add something like "Anyone who collected materials in advance of this week based on FDEV's incorrect statement that G5 would cost G4 need not bother with the bonus week..."

Oh goody, on a weekend I'm thousands of light years away from anything resembling civilisation... Oh well back to my exploration.

Recipes are not one level cheaper, materials are one rarity cheaper. Randomising recipes completely. This wasn't what was advertised.

How exactly does the trading profit increase work? Is there a way to know exactly by how much I get more? Also, does this apply to delivery missions, too, or only commodity trading? Thanks.

No change to missions that I can see, so regular trading only. Goods are cheaper to buy and sell for more, varying by commodity, location and faction states as ever, but I'm making 80-90% profit on some runs :)

EDIT - Use the trading tools in the commodity market to see the potential profits at your destination.

Anybody notice some strange happenings on the markets...? Based on a EDDB search I picked up some Mil grade fabrics...700+ tons.. now I've been to about 6 stations and all are selling at -1580% ...even the good price I got them at I still make over 150 CR loss per ton. It is as if the prices have been dropped to make the "huge profits" ..but AFTER my purchase...which was only about 2 hours ago...

Update: So Thought I'd go old school since EDDB clearly needs more data to catch up to the new prices...Tried off loading the Mil grade fabs at a military economy...but get there and it is no such thing..not a mil base or anything in system...could have sold them for a 250CR per ton loss though

How can the UC possibly consider this a mil economy...Think I might wait out where I am for a day for EDDB to catch up and maybe find a system with new data that doesn't have a price that is -1500%.

Shield Boosters are still showing the normal mats for grade 5 on the Heavy Duty....

Hello there,

Thank you for the feedback! Grade 5 material requirements for engineering should have reduced by one rank, so it seems like it hasn't occured for Shield Boosters. We've informed the team so we can get that corrected as soon as possible.

If Commanders out there discover any other engineerings recipes that are still showing normal material requirements, please let us know.

We'll be listening to feedback and making tweaks here and there to ensure that this is the best event it can possibly be!

That's what Materials Traders are for.

Playing your own game at least ONCE and realising people PLAN for their engineering visits would have prevented this event from becoming the worst fiasco ever.

What did you think when putting RANDOM MATS into grade 5?

You either correct this or you'll lose another portion of your player base. ONCE MORE.

The materials have their own grade in a similar way to the engineering mods. G4 mats instead of g5 materials, g3 materials instead of g4. You need to consult the remote workshop and materials traders to capitalise on this event.

Yeah, i didn't realize it started today. I assumed weekend ment weekend.
I went to engineer some lasers and I don't have the right mats!
Some of them had a couple of added mats I noticed
