Bonuses for putting passengers into higher class cabins

By analogy to travel today, it would certainly make sense if effectively giving your passengers upgraded seats (relative to what they booked) would make them happier, and thus less likely to make demands or become dissatisfied and bail out. It would make less sense to get a monetary bonus though, since presumably your passengers are already offering what's in their budget to pay.

Happiness bonus makes most sense, but some passenger missions might also mention that while they are content with the First Class, they will pay bonus for Luxury. Make those modules a little more relevant.

I think the passenger system should get some tweeks, in particular those transport missions from A to B, they shouldn't be handled like missions but more like a demand and supply board, for example you have 100 passengers that want to go to B and pay Xcr for Economy Ycr for 1st Class and Zcr for Luxury.

A happiness bonus in long haul route, or making passengers less demanding/more tolerant of delays etc would be a nice touch if it could be done with out signifigantly impacting other development.

I think that it's (at least, it used to seem to be) already a factor, I have in past times taken passengers in higher class accommodation and they normally just shut the hell up and happily paid up at the end of the trip, the only times I've been given the runaround is when they get the class asked for.

I dunno, if you move a redneck from coach to first class IRL, I suspect this actually causes more problems than it solves. I can see him bothering some uppity-up in a suit - "I'm Larry, and my brother Darryl and my other brother Darryl are stuck back in coach. Hey, is the wine free? I'll take more! Buuurrrpp!"

The other parallel (since our ships consist of cabins, not seats) is when a youth sports team rents a bunch of rooms in ahotel. If the hotel doesn't have enough economy rooms and some kids end up in a deluxe suit, they're not going to pay any more that originally budgeted for, and they'll jump up and down on that deluxe king bed just as much if not more than they would their economy bed.

I tend to agree... As it stands now, dedicated Passenger Ships are fairly redundant and often outperformed by various Multirole Vessels.
And carrying those low-Volume Luxury Cabins is rather a distinct disadvantage than a unique advantage they should always have been.

On top, I never understood why VIP Passengers that additionally were "does not react well to danger" would happily board a rusty, shieldless 0% Integrity Type-6 - which hauled 96tons of Biowaste on the last trip - and pay full price.
Never made any sense.

So without disabling all those established Multirole PAX Vessels, it'd be a good idea if some Bonus was tossed in (from VIPs) when showing up in a 100% Integrity, shiny and dedicated Passenger Vessel.
And (as it's simply the easiest solution) another Bonus should be tossed in when being able to offer some Luxury Cabins for those VIPs.
(following the same logic, a Secretive and Wanted Criminal Mastermind would likely prefer a non-dedicated PAX Vessel to travel anonymously - and toss in a nice Bonus for that)

That wouldn't break anything (thanks to the Void Opal rush) in terms of Credits and come around alot more credible - and finally give those Luxurious Vessels the stand-alone benefit they should carry.

Well, if and when we get Legs I'll just have to walk down the corridor and offer the airlock as a possible alternative to a misbehaving passenger... don't jump on my **king bed!

ED is backwards in this regards. Certain ships have dedicated military slots, which often makes those ships LESS desirable since the slot is limited compared to a generic slot. The same went for the passenger ships until recently. It should be the other way around IMO. ONLY military ships should be able to equip HRPs, MRPs, etc. And to your point, ONLY passenger ships should be able to equip anything above business class cabins. Seriously, a passenger looking for a first class or luxury experience should flat-out refuse to fly on an Anaconda held together by duct tape.

Until then, we each just have to make that choice for ourselves. As a roleplayer, I try to "do it right" when it comes to things like this.
