i use EDMC to send info to EDDN, because i use EDDB and inara on and off. i'm not sure how to even compile EDD, because i only dabble in coding. i wrote a small java program to link keywords to photographs a while back, so i modified that to copy the System name to the clipboard. When i do a search i get a list of thumbnails showing the screen shot i saved and i can copy the system name to the clipboard at the press of a button.

There's no need to compile EDD yourself if you don't want to. The link in my sig will take you straight to the release page where you can download an executable installer or the portable version (essentially a zip file of the binaries you can just drop wherever you fancy, unzip and run).
Once it's running the Help menu will give you links to our dedicated thread here and our Discord channel - if you need any help getting it set up or running how you want jump on there and we'll be happy to help. The code base is pretty hefty because it can do a lot of things
