If its at all possible, I wish the 5 closest bookmarks to you were displayed at the bottom of the navigation panel. It would hasten trade routes, but also give you a better feel of the places you find interesting and where they are in relation to each other- all without having to load the entire galaxy map.

I have a better idea. To be able to see book mark on the main screen. So if you have issue auto plot going 1k ly in galaxy map. You could use the marker as a focus point. Plot your own course using the stars listed on your Navigation Panel. By looks alone.
