Bookmarks to Beagle

Now that I have made it and we have bookmarks and I was a little OCD this explore and kept written logs (sigh) I thought I would plot my route and show off some fun with bookmarks. Enjoy.

And another

I chose to skirt around the Core with a more or less direct vector from the Bubble. I did not regret this at all until I hit the biggest dwarf field I ever saw and had to divert way below it.

My crossing of the Abyss....took me some time to sort this. I kept looking for a shorter route, many 1k LY dead ends...left those bookmarks out. :)

Beagle and a couple systems past it I boosted out to.

First thing I did after the update was mark my route. Was easy as I was doing Distant Worlds route with a couple of extra waypoints of my own.

Bookmarks are also useful as a visual aid to help you aim in the direction of a waypoint out of your plot range when you're plotting your next 1klys.

@Frawd yes, colors would be great. I'd love to categorize them.

Planning such an expedition myself. Going via the core to see Sagittarius A*, then on to Beagle.

Most threads I have seen people are using Asp Explorers, I am going in my Diamondback Explorer, fitted out all A rated.

Any advice please? :D

One piece of advice I might offer, A-rated is not necessarily all its cracked up to be for exploration. I don't have my build handy as I am at work now, but there are plenty of areas where D rated is more than sufficient and offer significant increases in range. As you can see from my screenies, I did not optimize my Annies range as there were somethings I wanted to bring along like extra fuel tank and SRVs. Just play around with the build and consider some of those D rated modules....thrusters, scanner, etc. Obviously the FSD you want A-rated.
Edit: and do a short shake down cruise with landings before committing so you can make adjustments.

That's not a bad idea Cmdr...except I've started using my bookmarks to record ELW finds.

Now if only we could have bookmarks in different colours...

;)

Colors would be awesome as well as being able to save bookmark sets. Once I make my return trip I'll clear my bookmarks and begin a new explore....maybe the rift :)

That’s a really cool use of bookmarks. It begs the question though, what is the maximum number of bookmarks we can have at any one time?

So far I’ve only set about two dozen bookmarks myself, all POI’s I’ve explored or systems of interest in the bubble. I won’t bother marking ELW’s I find as I mark them in EDDiscovery, but using bookmarks to mark out galaxy map routes for expeditions, I like that.

I avoided the core this time just to avoid being bogged down in my routing. Last couple times I visited Sag, routing was frustrating. Side note, It was bizarrely beautiful to skim the edge of the core...the view out the cockpit was fascinating as you could see a clear (and bright) boundary between the core stars being all clustered and the more open space just beyond. As you can see I held pretty tight to the perceived boundary of the core.
Bizarre side note: I didn't run into any serious hazards until I reached the Far Rim when I jumped into a Neutron Star system....after weeks of pretty harmless travel and getting lax because of it, that was some serious pucker factor.
