There are complaints about the colonization effecting the BGS, however, I haven't seen anyone talk about how there must be several systems popping to Boom status given all the material goods being bought up suddenly from particularly industrial refinery systems.

Buying goods doesn't cause boom... funnily enough.
For market sales, the only thing that causes Boom is selling, for profit. Bigger the better. So.... yes... ripping off the factions is what puts them into economic boom. Go figure.
