Boost Failed

So i've been away from the game for a year or so and i am way outside the bubble in the middle of nowhere.
I have full pips to engines but i can't seem to boost to the other side of the star.

Probally some stats have changed and my current power unit cannot support the boost function??

Is there anyway to get the boost to work or am i screwed?

Good point there.
Especially with the X52 Pro HOTAS, if you've not played in a long time, the CLUTCH setting may be in the wrong place (i.e. ON), which disables a few things in Elite.
Not saying that is your issue, nor even that you have that HOTAS, but it shows there are any number of things could be causing it really.

Are you in supercruise, my friend? Boost is a feature of your conventional drive thrusters; it only works in normal space.

Logically boosting means that you are in normal space.

Sol has a circumference of over 4.3million Kms. If your ship can do 500mps, it would take you, 8 years, to get to the other side.

My guess, is that you are doing something wrong here.

Wouldn't it be more like 100 days?

Ok, This is something that changed in the last three updates since I had a Python fitted for mining with a 3A PD and it would still boost. Got it out of storage and now it won't boost without at least a 6D PD. Cost me nearly 2 LY of jump range.

Interesting. I've had a few instances of boost not working. Iirc, that happened in ships I had undersized PP and PD to increase jump range. I put incrementally larger PD and PP's in varying combinations until the ship would boost (thus decreasing my jump range :-( ).

I'll need to follow this thread to see what it is; a bug or working-as-intended (update).

If I am reading coriolis right,, If I L5 Engine Focus a 3A PD it will regain BOOST and I will get about 1.2Ly more jump than I get with a 6D PD.
Is t worth the Engineering effort?? I don't think so for a Miner.
