Boost - save us from ourselves!

Greetings commanders!

We've all done it. Maybe it's a lack of manual dexterity. Maybe it's too many red-eyed hours behind the stick. Maybe it's advancing age. Maybe, just maybe it's too much Leestian Evil Juice ;) .

But please, I'd really love a switchable option that automatically disables boost inside station no fire zones.

Twice now I've hit the boost button instead of landing gear down with disastrous, expensive results.

Kind developers, save us from ourselves!

I remapped mine from Tab to Ctrl-Tab and now even if I wanted I couldn't boost unless I pressed both keys at the same time, which is very unlikely to happen unless I really do it consciously. I guess there is something similar with a joystick too? Same with jettison all cargo, went with Ctrl-Page down.

I have boost mapped to a throttle button that's some distance from the landing gear button, but every now and then the wrong button gets pushed.
It just feels like the ships of the thirty fourth century should have a bit more awareness of context.

Use a two button combo for boost and always put landing gear down on entering a station. Landing gear down and boost is automatically disabled.

"Astra, landing gear."
"Deploying landing gear. Landing gear deployed."
...
" Docking successful; engines disengaged."

Have any of you purchased a new hauler and once outside hit boost. I did this and blew up before boost ended. All of the mass looks ok.

My landing gear is set to "L"... "Ins" turns on the ship lights. Also changed Jettison All to CTRL+End.. it wasn't very funny when I enabled my cargo scoop and instead all my illegally obtained salvage popped out within scanning distance of 4 system authority ships, who promptly started to fine me for dumping hazardous materials... for each cannister.. each ship.. (never heard of double jeopardy, guys?)

Really, this all just comes down to user error. When I make mistakes like these, it's because I deserve them.
