Boosting into space stations

More than a few times !!! It's brutal
I also managed to simply drift into one last night, I was in an Anaconda so I got stuck, was a bit hairy, local rozzers weren't chuffed hahahah.
Worst! I boosted while was going out and not aligned with the door! my conda stucked in the slot and was a mess!, I was warned to get out in two minutes!, a miracle the station do not fired on me!
Yeah. I've done it many many times. Although the ships I fly now have beastly shields so have not died from it in a couple months.
In the first couple weeks of playing I had a rage quit moment when I was doing a delivery mission in my newly acquired type 6 and after carefully piloting to my destination i boosted into the back of station at my destination which resulted in an expensive at the time rebuy, a fine for blowing up the cargo, reputation loss, and a loss of a couple hundred k in profits which was kind of a big deal back than. Glad no one was at my place when this happened cause the amount of yelling and swearing that came out of me would make a grown woman blush. Almost quit the game that day. Lol

I've also accidentally deployed and fired my weapons in the starter Sidey while in a station because I hadn't switched the button to only deploy on X instead of when the trigger is pulled. Got blown up in short order. LOL

I always boost into stations. Wheeeeeeeeee!
I have only lost one FDL to unintentional boosting. I did it twice in a row, on the same pad. Goodbye 4 million!

Do it all the time to avoid scans for smuggling. It's an alternative to silent running.
I used to boost in the station all the time until I got my Elite controller. Using the configuration for that and the in-game mappings I was able to remap the boost to one of the paddles on the back.
Also was able to map the FA toggle to the other paddle. Certainly has made things easier and less costly!

As soon as the controls could be customised I switched the B and Y button bindings. No more accidentally pinballing around the station walls!
You only have to be running at over 200ms, to avoid the scans, most of the time. It also helps not to run across the nose of the ship scanning you.
So glad it wasn't just me lol. I've got into the habit of holding down B, then selecting the landing gear when the options appear. Kept on boosting for the cargo scoop too back when I was miner so space ship splats on asteroids as well as space stations 
Only when I was still a noob and needed to get used to my HOTAS.
Never happens anymore.
They are impossible to mix up even if I pay a minimum of attention.
My boost is a red button on my throttle handle.
My gear is a toggle switch on the base of the throttle.
