Just spent 30 minutes in combat in a RES collecting a few hundred thousand in bounties. Combat feels good. Not overly difficult, but not too easy. Then flying back to cash in and got interdicted. Submitted as I normally would and found myself under immediate attack. Shields down in about 10 seconds followed by strikes from about 4 missiles. Thrusters knocked out and my assailant then just ignores me. As soon as I repair my thrusters I was hit by another couple of missiles which destroy my ship.

Felt that I had absolutely no chance. I'm not great in combat, but normally do ok,but this was just a slaughter. So frustrating, but I'll be back for more tomorrow.

Did you have Point Defense or ECM installed?

Great to hear that. Maybe we are finally getting the "dangerous" part of the game ;)

NPCs should have their own forums where they will be able to post about combat logging solo players ahahahaha :D
(because its inevitable now... since npcs can hit hard, the people will complain and combat log even vs npcs)

In a fight against two NPC in a USS they killed my Point Defence... But lucky managed to shoot both down and made it out with 40% hull...

I faced 4 NPC Fer De Lance and such in a Mission SS. No chance to win against these.
After I lost my ship in about 1 Minute I changed the approach. Just took some Mission items, then fast entered SC before they started to attack.
Then came back for a second attempt. Sometimes it's better to flee, as to fight.

I'm going to have to consider it. Today is the first time I've ever been attacked with missiles. I play in solo mode BTW. It was the speed they took down my shields as well. I had virtually no time to react.

It's frustrating, but I'm not really complaining. I will have to fight interdictions now rather than just submitting.

Yup, 2.1 is suicide without chaff and point defence or ecm. Missiles are tougher too, so try not to get a faceful of packhounds at close range because the defense system won't have time to destroy them. There's a whole new world out there, and it wants your hull. Good luck Commander, and safe flying.

Sounds like one of those bounties you collected really peeved someone off, so much that they sent their top man to get vengeance :)

Tried an assassination mission in my Anaconda. And got almost blown to pieces in the base. Like, really hard now. I kind of felt really incompetent. XD

Well I struggled for the 3 hours I played yesterday after go live. Died 3 times

Combat is harder, even at the lower end (I did a reset) - the frustration, except for the last incident with an imperial eagle interdicting my stock sidewinder, each of the other occasions was poor decision making (rather than execution) by me. Frustrating, got myself into lazy habits in 1.4 and 1.5 performing NPC farming.

Have the day off - so before I join the "use the nerf" bat brigade, I want to give the game a proper try out.
