Boucy landing pads

Anyone else getting this? When I take my Python to dock at some of the new station interiors, it bounces off the pad a bit. It feels like someone replaced my landing gear with pogo-sticks.

Possibly a collisions detection issue?

I noticed that the docking mini-game has changed; now my Conda needs to bury itself into the pad where as previously the pad deftly took hold from a much greater height.

I fly a Python and didn't notice anything.

However my FDL does that, but it did that as well in 2.1.

Not just me then. :)

I've tried a variety of ships since the update and they are all a little trickier to dock now.

The bigger the ship, the greater the change from what I can tell, essentially, its far more fussy on the ships attitude in relation to the pad than it was before when it was mainly just a case of lining up the crosshairs and dropping.

My Cutters a bit of a b*tch now, but perfectly doable so no complaints at needing a little more care.

I've had almost the opposite experience with smallish ships (DBX, FAS). I've found that the pad will "grab" the ship at a much higher roll angle than before, then roll it until horizontal, then drop and latch. It felt very odd at first but I'll probably get used to it. I haven't flown anything larger than an Asp so I can't vouch for large ship changes.

Python as well, noticed I have to be more accurate in ensuring I am level otherwise just seems to skip sideways, get that nose up.

I do find it interesting how different pilots view the exact same changes to the mechanics in a game. How do you land? I tend to come in more like a plane to a runway, then just do the last few meters as a hovering ship.

I found the change to be pretty much negligible, but still there on small ships up to my Python. Bigger than that and I feel I have to take much more care on lining up in both position and attitude now.

Yup. I had this in a Clipper. One station just refused to allow me to dock at all - I just bounced and scraped around a bit. Flew out of the station, re-requested docking, and tried again. Same result. Had to dump the passenger mission I was running, as I just couldn't land. Other stations/outposts I've been able to land, but needed to really smack the ship down hard. Something has definitely changed.

If you are like me, you habitually have the nose too far down. I feel I have to raise the front very high to get a successful dock now, but when I used the external camera while hovering, the game is right and it just wants me to be level. It just looks too high to me from the cockpit because I'm used to my old technique I guess.

Been reported as a bug.
Chucked my Cutter and the Waldo CG as it was taking minutes to get the new style pad to clamp me. A lottery. Tried various different methods. I was going to end up getting blasted by the station at some point.

Not had enough playtime to narrow it down to a particular pad or ship. But it was always pad 2 at a new dock in a Cutter and I remember having to nearly scrape my Orca hull off the deck to get clamped down.

The back-end of my Cutter's graphic outline needs to be buried in the deck to get a successful contact.

I'm pretty sure it was pad 2 that I was having trouble too. If it happens again I'll get a video clip and add to the bug report.

I wish we had a meter when docking like when we land on planets. Just for the last few meters when the holo from the ship becomes visible.

You get the X,Y,Z offsets as text in meters just under the attitude graphic, or did I miss the point?
