Bought the standard beta, meant to purchase the premium

Hi,

I went to this page:

http://elite.frontier.co.uk/about/#.U16TQlfm6-o

On the right of the page it said the following:

"Premium Beta OUT NOW.

Immediate access to Single Player Combat
Automatic access all the Beta development stages
Automatic access to all major downloadable expansion packs as they are released"

Beneath this it said:

"Join the Elite"

I clicked this button expecting to be able to buy into the advertised stuff such as "Immediate access to Single Player Combat", so I purchased the "Standard Beta" under the assumption that this gave me the advertised stuff.

Well it turns out apparently I should have bought the premium beta to gain access right now :-( Lol so anyway it's slightly missleading and there was no option to upgrade my standard beta to the premium beta (this should be made a lot clearer on the front page in my opinion, or the "Join the Elite" button should link to the premium beta, seeing as how the button is clearly grouped with the advertising text).

Anyway I went ahead and purchased the premium beta, so now I have the premium and the standard. I was wondering if I can get refunded for the standard beta and have it removed from my account. Because I really don't have any need for it now. I know it's "buyer beware" but it would be a great gesture for me to be refunded as the mistake was made based on a fairly ambigous advertising on the front page of the website.

Sorry to be a pain!

You are quite within your rights. For me it is a bug on the site. Because the link should lead you to the premium beta. In addition, the Alpha presentation on the home page should not be present, but the premium beta instead.

I am constantly surprised by the laxity of Frontier (or its subcontractor) for the commercial aspect and the ambiguity of its advertisements.

I would think they'd want more money than less and since you haven't/cannot use it I imagine they'll help you adjust your purchase. Don't be surprised if they have to cancel your order and you re-purchase what you wanted. Their auditing is a bit peculiar on how it needs to be done. I'm not saying that's how it has to happen, just relating from personal experience.
Again, hope it goes smoothly for you and you get in quickly after you contacted support or Ashley Barley

Yeah, I've created a ticket about it. It's actually quite interesting how they are making a really complex game but at the same time keep making simple mistakes like these. :p

You've had exactly the same problem? Or you've submitted a ticket for me? Or in general? :p

I believe he ticketed the storefront issue that waylaid you?

YOU will need to contact support to resolve it unless you just want to wait until/IF they allow upgrading from standard to premium but you won't be able to play the solo play missions until it's adjusted.
Did you email them yesterday as I suggested?
