Anybody else getting bounties for no apparent reason? Today I landed on a pad by coming straight down from above it and after sitting there for over a minute I suddenly got a message that I had assaulted a goliath. In seconds I was staring at a rebuy screen. Also have had several friends complain about similar incidents. Is this common?

Got one myself today, 6D till fall off, NPC cops killing you doesnt erase...Frontier in their infinite wisdom has removed the ability for me to get rid of said bounty. I know there are 400 bil other systems out there, but I do not want to move just for some idiot design feature of the game. Sooo yeah I guess I will be taking longer than a 6D break, nice one Frontier, was sold on the game, but this beats all I've seen. I will not be returning, not because a player made me rage quit, but because you have chosen to hamper players from playing. I could see the 6D period if I got killed by player OR NPC but nooo its just a free for all for a week, oh the best part, instead of the bounty dropping off like it should when you die, the clock resets. Who was dumb enough to come up with that?
Nobody has removed anything. You can still have your bounty removed by being killed by security in the system you hold the bounty in.
@OP.. I think there is a problem with sentry spawning in and around planetary bases, I have seen a few reports on that.

Nope, with that bounty active it get's changed to a dormant bounty.
If you then get scaned by the security again you will get shot on sight again and the bounty will again go dormant.
You have to get the bount get active and flee to anoth system with it being active to get rid of it because only an active bounty will tranform into a fine within 7 minutes, a dormant bounty needs 7 days for that.
But hey, it totaly fits into the braindead crime & punishment system the game offers.

I was dealing with the dormant bounty thing last week. After a few rebuys (haha) I finally left the system to get away from that mess. That's one good thing about HAZRES and Compromised Beacons. No cops. lol. Stray bullets hitting clean pilots? No problem! Find a nice outpost close by and you're golden.

This just happened to me moments ago. I was floating by a station, then something hit my shields from behind harmlessly as I was motionless waiting to dock, and then I get wanted and the station blows me up.
I was carrying 80 units of fabric, so I don't want to hear any crap about illicit cargo. I'm already opening a ticket because this is some outright bull right here.
