Bounty hunter here. What ship after the sidewinder.? I've got 350k

With only 350k, your choice should be the Eagle. I don't recommend you buying the Viper unless you have at least 1 mil. A fully upgraded Viper will set you back around 2 to 2.5 mil, while you can comfortably equip an Eagle for 1/5 of that amount. The style of fighting is also different. If you have a Viper, use its speed advantage to boost to a distance, then make an attack run. In an Eagle, use its turn rate to stay on people's tails. However, both are pure combat vessels. If you want a little more utility, then go for the Adder at your budget.

In all honesty - I'd stick with the Sidewinder and keep saving your cash.

Not a good idea. You want to buy ships with more cargo space as soon as you can. I started a thread asking nearly the same thing..."What is the best trading/combat ship?". I went from sidewinder (10 tons) to adder (26 tons) to cobra (60 tons). Shields in an adder takes up 8 tons of cargo, and 16 in the cobra. I could never spare losing that much space...and you can't fight without shields. I ended up buying a viper and keeping my cobra. Of course another option is to do a trade route in a cobra once you get it, and use your trading money to turn it into the best weapon you can afford. Once your done, swap back to a basic cargo cobra until you build enough money to do whatever.

BTW the adder has no upper windshield, so not the best view for fighting. It's a very temporary ship anyway though.

Top notch fighter

Everyone suggests the Eagle and I have to agree. You simply cannot go wrong and with the right equipment it is great for hunting.
I have an Eagle and it's the only ship I own atm and it's really well decked out. I would strongly suggest the military composite armor followed by an upgraded power plant and distributor so you can slowly get the weapon systems you desire the most. Then turn your attention to the frame shift drive.
i run a gimballed burst laser on top and two multi-cannons slung under the wings and it is a beast.
took some doing but I took down an anaconda with it the other day and although I took some damage, they are easy and cheap to repair.
if you really intend on bounty hunting full time then I would suggest dumping the cargo hold and putting in a fuel scoop, have a k-warrant scanner and a discovery scanner. That way when you traverse the systems in search of a few creds not only can you pick up extra bountys and fuel but you can sell your cartographics as you go.
Happy hunting.
