Bounty hunter hunters

Why isn't it implemented that if you did 60% of the damage you'll get 60% of the bounty? And if a player that kills you for no reason gets 'caught' by security that he'll have to pay the amount that you lost back (of the lost bounty coupons). That seems much more fun for everyone.

Now you'll have to find a system where nobody is, or play solo. Otherwise you will get bounty hunter hunted. They will steal your kill and if you do it to them they will kill you. Without an option for escape, because the people that do this have always the better ship.
And really, for what sake? I for example was in my Adder hunting for sidewinders or other small bounty targets, because I don't have the firepower for the bigger ships. Why would any Cobra player steal these little amounts of money? Ya can't outrun a cobra, so I lost all my bounty coupons. And he only got a 6000 credit bounty, whoop di doo.

Sure be a pirate, try to steal my stuff, or bounty hunt me for my bounty. Or lose all your bounty coupons because you thought you can beat an Anaconda in an Adder. But this is just a bad game design.

I get it that if somehow your ship gets destroyed you lose your coupons, but let him get a higher bounty for such crime or something. Maybe as high as the bounty that the person had collected? Or if he pays the bounty or gets killed, a part of the bounty coupons he 'stole' from other people get returned to them.

Either way, I find it really bothering me a hellofalot more then if somebody just kills me for no reason or intercepts my cargo.

Just wait til some clever chap deliberately flies into your field of fire so you become wanted then kills you for 400cr bounty.

Wait, let me get this straight...

1. You are bounty hunting.
2. You get blown up.
3. Because you get blown up it is bad game design!

Am I reading it right? Because that's the gist of what I read. Soooooooooooooooo here's an idea... Listen closely...

Don't get blown up.

The problem here isn't the game. It isn't other players. It is you. Generation Y by my guess. The "no fault" generation. Use your brain. Find another system without as many humans and get to killing. And then, when you have your big boy pants on, go back and punch the bully in the eye next time they throw mud at you.

wait until somebody attacks you then runs away because they cannot face losing their ship.

You want what? Pirates to get a bounty on their head equal to your unclaimed bounty vouchers?
I don't know how that's meant to work.

No, not because i get blown up it is bad game design, I never meant implying that. What I think is bad is that the consequences are messed up. If you are a pirate and steal someone's cargo, you have stolen cargo, something that makes you a 'villain' and you'll have to be stealthy to earn a profit. The victim gets the idea that there were consequences for the person for doing that. (That you can avoid all that is gameplay and makes it fun) Never had a problem with that.

People should do the ever the hell they want, including blowing people up for no apparent reason, I absolutely don't have a problem with that, sure I lose a ship but the insurances aren't that high. He gets a bounty so it's settled.
But there is a difference in just killing people for the heck of it and killing bounty hunters in my opinion, so the consequeses should be different for that in my opinion.

And I had the idea that the amount of bounty such player should get should depend on the amount of bounty coupons the victim lost, so that the consequence is that he get a higher bounty than if he killed you in front of a station or something.

Of course I could alt-f4 out of the fight, or play solo. But I think that is not the point of this game. And Mr_Blastman I don't know what I did offended you but ok.

MB113, not sure why you brought all that other stuff stuff up, as there's many a thread for them.

The only thing I would say in a group environment (more that 1 human pilot a nav point, for example), if someone is already shooting a target, go find your own to shoot. That way you'll avoid shooting the human, as well avoid giving the other player the idea that you're attempting to take his/her bounty. You chose to interfere, clipped him/her, he/she got upset and summarily blew you up.

What other stuff? And yes, of course, but I wasn't talking about that, don't know were you got that from that i interfered or try to took his bounty.

I found most of your post too confusing to follow, except the first bit.

On bounty percentages: there's 1 bounty, 1 voucher. If you want all the money, you have to get the kill. Try hunting in something better than an Adder, for one thing (gah, can't imagine doing that.)

And another tip: when another CMDR is already taking down a target, don't jump in hoping to get the kill shot in your delivery van. I'll let it go the first time, but after the 2nd or 3rd time - I don't care if you're Clean or not, I'll be happy to introduce you to your insurance agent and pay the $10,000 fine for killing you. If people are stealing YOUR kill, then consider doing the same (in a better ship, of course). :)

Yes, but that is not the problem, most of the time i'm already hunting for a while and somebody comes along and starts to steal kills and if there is nothing to do they kill me. (No escaping from a Cobra.. :p) That is part of the game, but the part I find flawed is that there are no extra consequences for him for doing that.

Let's say it different, if someone has a bounty on there head, it is a sort of ranking on how 'bad' they are. It makes the person with the highest bounty more of a target then others.
The other way around it is not ranked, it doesn't matter wich player you kill, you only get a fixed bounty for that. I think that there should be a ranking aswell of how 'good' a player is. So if someone kills a more 'good' player he should get a bigger bounty for that.
Maybe the more bounty vouchers you didn't cash in should represent your 'goodness' in a system? Or your reputation?

I hope I explained it better this time.
