Yes it happens a lot sadly. They kick butt in solo but when facing a real player they run and hide...it may be frustrating but as long as they don't log and just high wake away its fine. Cowardly but legit.

I'm only "Dangerous" but just as a rule I always run from players. Not scared, just don enjoy PvP(I'm a very docile person, so lack a "killer instinct").

PvP isn't my thing either and I'm deadly rank, would rather just destroy NPC'S. I can defend myself though, just prefer not to have to do it.

I ALWAYS wanna fight but sometimes i have to run. Occasionally, im low on ammo, or i decide i am at a tactical disadvantage.
But, most times its because i have something to do in real life or maybe i just have to take my dog out to go Pee.
I have 2 friends who got reported for combat logging (by the SAME player/forum member). I dont support logging but both were on their way to a station to save and quit when said player and his cronies interdicted them.
One had to head out to work, the other had to poop really really bad. Neither had time for a fight or an explanation (not that the 16 year old on the other end is even entitled to an explanation). Both were reported by said self righteous teen.
I guess my point is, there are a thousand reasons someone doesnt wanna fight. Doesnt mean you are better or they are scared. But the biggest point i hope you take away from this is that "IT IS A VIDEO GAME" and real life will always take priority

I'd probably leg it too, I'm Deadly rated. Just don't do PvP if I can avoid it. I'll always send a friendly o7 over the comms if I see another Cmdr... if they reply by deploying weapons or shooting, I just shrug and boost away.

I've been combat elite for a good long while, and 95% of the time, in a case like that, i take off. Not because I'm scared, or cowardly, but because I don't really care about PVP and I have other things to do. Bounties to drop off, merits to collect, a res/cz to get to etc, slaves to hand over, etc.... I don't have time to deal with you.

Elite rankings are nothing to do with skill anyway. They are about numbers plain & simple.

Like some of the other folks who've commented, I'm also an Elite. I do very little PvP, as it's really just not my thing. I'll attack in self defence, but I earned my status by bounty hunting over 1,000 NCP criminals. The main reason I don't do PvP is that I find it immersion breaking, since all of the humans who have attacked me were in a wing of two or three Corvettes or Pythons while I was alone. It makes little sense to me from an RP perspective, just shooting people up for the sake of it. If you want to pirate some of my cargo, fine. Give it a try- if I don't think I can flee or win, I'll likely submit. If you're bounty hunting me, that's fine, too. Same conditions apply.
But if you're just griefing, I will do my darnedest to escape in order to deprive you of what you're looking for: an unfair fight.

No action. But in both cases, the player sent my friend a vid they took and claimed to be reporting them to xbox/frontier. Whether or not they actually DID report them, i can not say. But from what i know about this particular individual, im sure he did
I hate when my attacker runs away or combat logs.
What I don't consider a factor at all is the rank. The skills of the player are with the player. That means a competent pilot might have gained enough experience to outclass every Elite!
