Bounty hunting players

Hey guys, I've seen Cmdrs on the wanted boards with over 300m bounties and I'm wondering if there's anyone actually hunting wanted players, and if there is could you shed some light into the process.

Is it worth it? Is there a limit to how much of the bounty you collect? Are there any groups or communities that focus on this? Etc..etc..

I don't really feel like ED offers much more complexity than that.

The bounty is capped too, < 10 mil i think.

A lot of them operate in solo to change BSG or so, you will chasing ghosts.

Back in the olden days, two friends would load slaves and scan each other repeatedly until they had a multi million bounty and then kill each other.

Actually when I first started playing, a lovely lass offered to let me kill her for the bounty. Would have got me starting cash of a hundred million odd. But alas. We could not get an instance together.

It's been capped at 2 MCr for a long long time, but it might have changed with the new C & P rules.

The Lass? Why none other than Suzy Thunda of the Alliance.
One day she shut up shop and disappeared.
Wordpress, here, discord, reddit, - across all social media her accounts closed, media and content deleted.
Long gone, but well remembered.

With a max reward set at 2m credits and ship rebuys running up to 40m... you do the math

2m credit caps is too low. I mean 6 players get after me in the current CG RES (after I accidentally shot a clean NPC Python) but they still 'splode and now I have a 4m bounty ... tendency increasing. Most likely I'll never get rid of it as 2m is the max payoff for any, noone will every try to really hunt me down. In case I explode I need to pay off my bounty if I was in a wanted system or scanned properly. That said, I'll most likely never get rid of my bounty and noone will ever claim it.
