Bounty Hunting - What am I doing wrong?

I heard that I needed to go to an anarchy extraction system and hang out at a resource point. I went there and all the ships are clean. Lots of ships but all of them show as clean. So I scan them with a kill warrant scanner and they still show as clean. I thought I was just scanning the wrong ships and that I just needed to wait a while and I would find a ship that was wanted. Nope, the kill warrant scanner has never once shown me a pilot as wanted after the automatic scan showed as clean.

What am I doing wrong?

I find the only way I can bounty hunt is to go to a federation system and fly around in hyper cruise doing auto scans until I find a wanted pilot, then interdicting him. Is this what everyone does? Is there a better way. Seems like a real waste of time when I can get 100k a load doing one jump system hops in my T6.

I really don't want to go back to a boring transport again.

Scan them with KWS. They still show clean. Open your Left Hand UI. Go to contacts, choose that ship. Check right hand side of that screen, see bounty. Kill them. Get paid.

Also, Nav Beacons in controlled space have a fair few wanted pilots; Anarchy pays better though.

Ahhh OK, I see now, the bounty shows in the panel but not under the hud display. Got it, thanks.
