Newcomer / Intro Bounty mission help

So like before I was sent on a mission to eliminate a target and along the way, I get misdirected.
I wish to continue continue with my original mission.

Per the screenshot below, which now says, LET HIM LIVE, do I abandon this or keep searching him?
Also, the mission now makes note ROSS 154... is that where I find him now?

Finally, and if he should still be in one of the three, and I spent a while in one, when is a reasonable to search the other two?

Looks like you have hit the assassination bug. You were given the alternative mission before being given the detailed location. Ignore the alternative and carry on looking for him for another few uss. If you dont get someone telling you where to go, you will have to abandon the mission entirety

So the sequence is, go to one of the three systems, then you will be told your target is in a different system. You can definitely find the target in this new system.
