Horizons "Bounty" Question?.

While on a mission yesterday I got a standard message that someone had been sent to stop me gave me a name and offering a bonus for a kill. A bit later I get interdicted by said NPC and on checking his status found that he was rated competent was in a DB Scout and as I was in my Anaconda decided to take him on. Anyway he attacked me and I destroyed him got a 60k+ bounty fpop up and carried on my way. A few moments later I get a pop up saying I am wanted and now I have a bonus on me in that system. At first I was going to carry on to my destination in Nuang and buy the goods for the mission but thought that if I do that and me not being very combat experienced I figured they are likely to open fire on me when I arrive at the station. So I went elsewhere but have a message in my transactions screen saying, 8560cr Bounty in Nuang with a time message of 5D:23H:23Min. What are my options here, I tend to stick mostly to trading mixed with delivery missions from my local faction and only ever take part in combat when I think I have a chance of surviving. Should I just buy a Sidewinder and go to Nuang and get destroyed or what?. I don't fancy risking my Anaconda with a wanted sign on it.

As far as i understand it :-

You can live with the galaxy wide bounty and probably be pestered by lots of NPC's.

Commit suicide by sidey (cheap) the bounty will then become dormant for 7(ish) days, any nav beacon around a sun will do for the suicide bit. With the dormant bounty you can then wait till it expires and becomes a fine (I've payed mine off at the intersteallar factors rather than go back to the originating system, just in case....

If you go back to Nuang with a dormant bounty and get scanned it will reactivate and you will almost certainly be attacked.

if you are wanted, and are scanned by system security in front of the station, they will open fire.

if you don't want to risk your conda, but want to go back to that system, trying to sneak in in a cheaper ship is an option.

or you wait those 5 days.

Firstly thanks to both of you for the replies. Secondly, what happens at the end of the five days time period?.
