Oh, I see. So because the game got funded, yet they told a blatant lie about the offline mode, we should all just shut up and accept paying £100 (in my case) for a game that I would have pledged a maximum of £50 had they told the truth from the start?
Best bet is pop em a mail see what they say. I don't think they're doing partial refunds for features though.
On the on/offline thing it wasn't really a blatant lie, they had every intention of doing it and it still may happen.
Unfortunately software development isn't alway straightforward, it's perfectly possible to believe you can implement something and then later on down the line find out that it really is not going to be as straightforward as you thought. Sometimes compromises have to be made and like it or not the pragmatic solution has to be followed and that's what happened. It wasn't a blatant lie as in "let's pretend we can do even though we know we can't".
Yes really it shouldn't have been promised up front (and I believe it never actually was promised in the Kickstarter) but in the end a large number of companies have fallen foul of this, it's more to do with the need to set out a stall without quite knowing how things will actually work out.
Software evolves during development and often, once you get to a certain place in development, you'll find the "right" solution is not what you thought it was and that development really has to go down a certain path to work correctly. It's unfortunate but sometimes features just have to be pulled for the sake of the project.
