BP-FDL: An explorer's story

Greetings! Before I begin, this is my first large post on the forums despite my game experience. If something is off, have patience [big grin]

I am known as Snek on various discords, but I am CMDR Sneek, affiliated with the Order of Enblackenment and EDEX. Due to a couple RL constrictions I've been unable to make this post until now.

I have reached Beagle Point in an FdL, and as far as I'm aware, I'm the first one to accomplish such a feat. The ship is carefully fitted for exploration, and nearly everything is modded. It is heavily experimental, as I went for usability over pure jump range, gaining an SRV and a mining laser while still maintaining a 28.50ly range.

Due to time constraints, I only had anywhere from 15-25 hours to play per full week, so the trip took a total of roughly 2 months to get from the Bubble to Beagle Point. This is a major achievement for me, as I have never been to Beagle Point despite having a couple thousand hours logged in game, and it will also be the trip to push me over the edge from Pioneer to Elite. I really enjoyed the scale of this trip, and every part, whether it was good, bad, or spacemad. I got to view some amazing sights, and hang out with some cool people. It is an experience I won't forget.

My FSD dropped me into the Beagle Point system 10/07/3303, @ 22:22:13 IGT.
I departed from 109 Piscium system 22/04/3303 @ 21:45:38 IGT.

Massive thanks to the following CMDRs:
CMDR FinrodNV - Meeting me at Hawkings Gap Beta Site
CMDR Patrecleus - Meeting me at Sag A*
CMDR Azanthic - Hanging out at Beagle Point in my multicrew seat

CMDR Baroness Galaxy - Helping with prospecting information
CMDR Draco25240 - Giving a point of reference and talking about sparse areas in lower range ships

Finally, I'd like to offer my dearest thanks to CMDR Olivia Vespera, she offered me her notes from The Wasp on DWE on her route through the last stretch to BP. I followed this route vaguely as my ship had a bit more range, but it was a massive help due to my time constraints, I left town the day I reached BP and just got back a couple days ago, so I most likely would not have made it without her notes.

Below is a collection of screenshots that I've taken and edited post-game session. Thanks for reading!

TL;DR : I did the Sol->BP trip in an FdL. Woohoo!

Wow, what an achievement [up]

Have been to SagA* in a FDL myself, but Beagle Point is a whole different story!

Ah, my bad, didn't know that. Just thought it must have been someone else since you linked a different post.

Great job Sneek (Snek)! Not sure I would endure such long trip on a shorter ranged ship. Certainly the Void must have given you the strength needed.

Wow, nicely done! Travelling in style, for sure.

I'll make it out there one of these days too... though it'll be with my AspX. ;)

+1 rep and Congrats, excellent post and great pics.

Personally being a bit of a chicken I never take any ships exploring where the fuel bar can be seen as individual measures rather than one complete one. Terrific effort and enjoy your well earned Elite exp status.
