BR Piscium, it goes by a handful of other names too.. Lalande 46650, Gliese 908, LHS550. Those names probably don't mean anything, but if you spent your childhood absorbed by the Alliance-Union novels of CJ Cherryh, you'll know that the planet Cyteen orbits this star. It's the home to Union, ruthless and devastating in power and numbers, clones populating planet after planet. It all started here, with Ariane Emory, at Reseune Labs.
I know there are controls and limits to what FD can do in terms of content and copyright, but I'd love to see more "nods" towards classic works that were award-winning in their time. BR Piscium as it is, is barely noteworthy, a part of me still hopes for some development that's in line with a location that spawned an entire universe for a prize-winning author. I can't recommend CJ Cherryh enough, her Alliance-Union and Merchanter novels fit Elite so well, even after almost thirty years, they're still some of my favourite pieces of work.
What locations would you like to see "tweaked" a little to recognise their importance in other realms..? It feels odd to leave these forgotten worlds forgotten..
