Brain Tree qualification

The fandom wiki for Brain Trees suggests they're limited to
the surfaces of airless planets and moons...that featured some form of volcanism
Is this still accurate? Can I use this criteria to search whilst exploring if I don't feel like simply visiting one of the various spreadsheet/lists people post online?
 
The airless part: nope. Brain trees can appear on thin atmospheric bodies as well. They are significantly more rare there, but not unheard of.
This applies to pretty much all of the legacy Horizons flora, by the way.
Here is a popular one, and another - they can even appear in hot thin silicate vapour atmospheres too.
