Brand new Type-7 and all cargo blows up for no reason

I come out of FSD drive and approach a station, as I get about 7km away suddenly I hear "eject, eject" and my ship blows up for no apparent reason.

I had full shields on, no one was shooting at me. No overheating, no warning, nothing. Lost millions and millions of credits of cargo and the ship.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm absolutely furious.

hull integrity go kaput, perhaps? I found out a few people I know had been riding on 10% hull integrity remaining in their maintenance tab. I have yet to see the results of leaving it be.
Otherwise, all I can say is perhaps a police vessel crashed into you. This has happened to me, where I had made a sudden change in direction on approach to a station. The security vessel attempting to circle me had assumed my path was constant but I went into flight-assist-off and did a 180 with boost which threw off the ai's prediction of my direction. I had about a split second to see the ship fly right into the window and destroy us both.
Do you fly without shields to gain extra cargo?

I had full shields and 100% ... it was basically a brand new Type 7 which really irritates me to no end. I opened a ticket, hopefully Frontier can do something about this. Otherwise I'm done

Sounds to me like accidentally enabling silent running. If you dont use it, remove it from the... del (?) Key

Edit: oh... no overheating? Hmmm... rammed something big?

Its a second one today, I think Lakon has some serious problems here in new revision of their Type 7, probably some wrong components from their suppliers ? For sure they should make a recall to fix them.

I have had this twice now - both times ticketed. First in a Type-6 with 1,000,000cr of goods on board and about 15 minutes ago in an Asp (fortunately empty this time) 566,000cr insurance. Both times the ship was on 99% repaired (just left a station after repairing). Both times there were no ships on the radar, silent running was OFF, heat was below 50%, weapons were stowed.

There was no reason at all and no warning. HUD disappears, sparks fly "Hull integrity failure", Boom...

I had a similar experience last week and i made a bug report. My type6 was approaching the station when i heard a huge crash, my shield went down but the ship did not move, i was flying real slow and steady and did not deviate. There was no one in sight and nothing was shooting either. A few seconds later another crash and i exploded.

That's what happens when you hit self destruct. Maybe it was bound to some key? I had to self destruct when my ship got stuck with cargo I couldn't get rid of and that's exactly what happened when I hit self destruct.

No one in your radar? Sounds like security vessels or other ships crashing into you. From what I've seen NPC ships just go straight to dock. They don't pay attention to any ship in front of them.

I had exactly the same two days ago, also in a type 7. It was shortly after I entered a station so I thought I might have gotten entangled in the slot somehow. But maybe Lakon used sub-standard components when building my mini-cow and that's why it blew up. (Or do you think I shouldn't have cut the green wire?) Anyway, the money I lost (insurance money plus full cargo hold worth about 300,000) was back after 3 or 4 round trips so not a big deal as long as it doesn't happen again.

Nope, I deliberately unbound several keys after an 'eject all cargo' accident in Beta...

Eject all cargo - unbound
Silent running - unbound
Self destruct - unbound

No after the first hit i was damn looking everywhere, the Crash was in sound only. That was the scary part, silence, ship did not move an inch, i assessed the ship status first and then the radar, i had a few second after that of wondering wth happened. There WAS a few ship on the edge of the radar but nowhere near visible sight. This crash set me back less than 200k and im not trying to get my stuff back. My T6 has crashed into the station quite a few times(deploying landing gear after boosting in F/A off is quite fun but it hurts sometimes lol) and even bumped a t9 once without ever having my shield lose more than 1 ring.

I had this in a type 7 a while back. I figured i had hit delete (silent Running) instead of insert (landing gear) while boosting and caused a rapid overheat.I unbound silent running afterwards as the keys are right next to each other on my keyboard, and i do tend to play in the dark with back light on the keyboard.
I haven't had the same since but if you unbound the keys already it must suggest another reason.

I still don't get how silent running could insta-kill you without warning. I doubt it was running in that mode anyway, I was using only an Xbox controller with nothing bound to silent running.

Now I gotta figure out how to make a cargo run in a Type 7 with only 70,000 credits and no insurance money left

Sell some equipment, even/especially your cargo slots(but obviously not all of them). You can do reduced cargo runs until you're back up to snuff. I did it briefly, and in no time I bought back my modules and never worried about losing my 17m ship for flying without insurance.
