I vaguely recall where a (presumably) pirate NPC sent me a direct message saying that it decided not to tangle with the likes of me. Maybe something like that perhaps ought happen more often?
Too bad it's not a thargoid interceptor. It's time for them to start demanding 100k worth of escape pods, whether you have them or not.
Yeah, they do that, sometimes. Though I've never found out whether they are deciding to fight or flight based on your ship or based on your combat rank.
Since my last restart I kind of neglected combat (only accidental Master after about 1000 hours) and they don't run away from me, even if I'm in a Cutter or T10, so I think it's combat rank.
and when they are down to 20% hull they just throw another: "this all can end for just 15t of your cargo."
