Bravo FD ! Love the new Ship Repair costs

little nugget of wisdom i discovered last night.

Your repair costs are dependent on what type of station you are repairing at. So far i have found that repairing at industrial stations is the cheapest. I think there currently is a bug involving your standing with them... It appears that standing is not taken into account.

But Bravo to FD ......

53 % ship integrity on a Anaconda

High Tech - Allied = 14mil repair

Industrial - Neutral = 6.7 mil repair

Industrial - Allied = 6.7 mil repair

Definitely a step in the right direction. I've also noticed that certain systems have higher fuel costs which i think is based on traffic .... personally fuel is still too cheep. I also hope they implement the ability of collecting / hauling / Selling fuel. I am positive it's not going to come close to trading in profit ... but would be interesting.

Really??? Awesome!! Another tiny squiggle of immersion added. I really hope they can continue to bring in small items like this as time goes by.

Lol. The rebuy cost on my Anaconda is only 6.9M.

It would cost nearly twice as much to repair a 0% integrity Anaconda than pancaking it into a station wall and paying the insurance deductible.

Something's borked up.

Yea they are a bit high.... Insurance fraud by self destructing shouldn't be the default option for these ships.... I know when my conda is stripped down for trade it's rebuy is only 8 mil. which should be about the max for the full ship integrity unless they are wanting insurance fraud to be a thing ... ?

Personally i would like them to keep it as is and apply a 30 % discount for being allied or so.

I really would love to seem them encourage us to develop relations with these factions to get discounts for quality of life improvements. I think the the galaxy should be harsh but made more hospitable with effort.

Cute, I love the way little stuff like this 'creeps out', and FDev refuse to spoon-feed us.

Great stuff, good spot, and thanks for the post!

Can't wait till everyone who's smart enough to strip it to the rivets and hit self-destruct starts getting called an exploiter and warned that FD will "get them."

Repairing ship integrity from 0% should cost 95% of insurance cost...

I dis-agree.... I think it should be more expensive ... so insurance fraud is an option but a costly option. I would like them to take this a step further and apply a faction discount to bring the costs down considerably. maybe to the rate of 95 % insurance cost form 0% like you suggest.

If the bill to repair my Anaconda exceeds around 14 million I could self-destruct it and get a new one for cheaper than it'd cost to get it fixed.

Elite: Dangerous - Insurance fraud simulator!

Immersion...then why is hull / modules repair cost way cheaper than integrity repair cost? Is it cheaper to repair your car after a little crash / driving a few thousands of miles, or after being shots by a bazooka / machine gun nearly to death?

I am pleased to see the fuel cost being higher, and actually it feels still too cheap to me.
Hull / modules repair cost should be higher as well.
But "hull integrity" costs...I mean, 200k for 2% of integrity loss on my Federal Dropship? Seriously?

Unfortunately it's not that simple... People could just strip down most expensive components to lower insurance cost waaaay down..

It's just so obvious, it almost hurts, right ?
Make the highest integrity repair cost equal to the re-buy cost.
Done.
Next...
I'd say to make the highest integrity repair cost equal to the re-buy cost of the ship only (not taking into account the price of the modules).
This sounds more realistic to me since modules are not repaired if you chose to repair the ship integrity anyway.
It would still be expensive but in the end be cheaper than a rebuy cost...and also cheaper than the current integrity repair cost

That could turn out to be even more costly.
Remember, the 10% sales penalty isn't off the table, just the implementation being reconsidered.
To significantly decrease the re-buy value, you'd have to sell the most expensive modules....at a loss.
Regardless, your suggestion is still sound.
