Rambling of an old retired fellow wanting to play Space Pilot.
So, day 1 in Elite. Done the initial training and got thrown into a system HIP (some numbers) and I was docked at a station on a planet. I picked a few salvage an item from a wreck missions as I am told they are/can be exciting missions but also very simple. But on arrivial at the location (Took me some time to work out how to find such locations but now I know its quite easy) I find the boxes are locked and asking for a code which I have no idea if that can be found, but said I can use Breach items to open them. On returning to my current home base, the seller does not sell such items (greyed out).
So I shall ask, knowing I am in a little ship that does not seem to like going very far, so any help is appreciate.
1. Where does one find Breach items to unlock boxes that are locked asking for codes?
2. Am I wasting my time as a new player with these ground based salvage item missions, should I maybe do delivery (seem very basic) or such instead for my first handful of hours?
3. Any recommendations for an old guy playing space pilot to help them get started.
Thank you
