Breeding: Clarifciation?

Hopefully Jens can clarify on this:

In the footage, he mentions "selective breeding". He seems to make a distinction between hatchery synthesis vs breeding out in the wild, suggesting breeding will be in the game as a lower cost manner of having your park's dino population grow or replenished:

"....when dinosaurs start reproducing naturally which is way cheaper and cost effective than tampering with eggs...their offspring will inherit those traits..."

I'm 99.9 percent sure that the YouTuber misspoke and confused Planet Zoo mechanics but thought I would ask because its got the community fired up. So, @Jens Erik once and for all, is natural breeding a part of JWE 2 outside of hatchery synthesis and modification? Pretty sure the answer is no but....ya know...

Hopefully Jens can clarify on this but earlier this morning a YouTuber accidentally posted their game-play video early (the same ones we've been seeing ever since the pre-order stuff dropped at GamesCon).

Video Link: Leaked Gameplay of Evolution 2 (the video starts at the relevant time point)

In the trailer, we saw a affection animations between dinosaurs, without males and breeding system that wouldn't make sense...maybe the males and breeding are unlockable...

I watched and saw nothing that breeding exists outside the hatchery. No mating animations, no nest of eggs, no increase in population. Pure speculation and wishful thinking on thier part.

Now this does not mean that at some point down the line it gets added., it just means not anytime soon.

Yeah that's why I'd like clarification because we don't see a lot of features we know are in game like pack hunting.

We don't have anything to announce about breeding in Jurassic World Evolution 2, sanctioned or otherwise. You're still bio-engineering dinosaurs in your parks, and you can select which eggs are brought to maturity in the Hatchery, as Jingles is demonstrating in the video. Certain modes will let you transport live dinosaurs into your park from the wild via remote capture or narrative events. In some levels there might be wild dinosaurs in the surrounding area that you need to transport back to your facilities.

Exactly what I thought. Thank you and can't wait for November 9!

i think if breeding was actually a thing, well known streamers in the JWE community such as bestinslot or gamingbeaver would have mentioned it in their gameplay previews

because if it was true, it would be huge

The thing was, one of the chosen streamers to test the game DID say that. I knew it was going to cause an immediate furor so I decided to have it officially debunked before getting hyped. I knew breeding wasn't going to be in the game in the sense the streamer was speaking of and that surprisingly doesn't bother me especially if going out in the wild and capturing dinos is a thing. That adds so much more possibilities since we have no idea the personality, stats or genetic are of those captured dinos and what change they may introduce to a stable reserve.

yes he was a chosen streamer, but he was not one of the well known ones (in the JWE community) :)

and it was rather clear from the preview that his knowledge of JWE did not go that deep so the breeding part should really be taken with a pinch of salt

I'm sorry to say my friend but I don't think breeding is going to happen in this game we're probably going to have to wait for this mechanic to come in either this game or Jurassic world evolution 3 in the far future.

I knew it wasn't but the YouTuber who was chosen to do some of the streaming misspoke and the reddit sparked up a few threads so I thought it would be best for Jens to get out in front of it before they ambushed him.
