Agreed. I made a similar comment when the update came out and I noticed this change.
Who would think this was a good idea? Removing the actual percentage and replacing it with a progress bar? I don't understand.
It's so easy to keep glancing at the percentage after kills to see when it moves up by 1%. But trying to look at the progress bar to determine if it's moved up a tiny bit after a kill is near impossible to notice.
Yes we can use Inara, or look down to see the Combat percentage, but why remove it in the first place? I don't know anyone that thinks these progress bars are an improvement over showing the percentages.
At the very least, give us the option to move our cursor to the left on that right-hand panel, so we can select the Combat, Exploration, Trade or CQC boxes. Let us select the box, opening that box so it's bigger, where it can show the percentage amount.
Console players are typically playing in a living room setting, so they may be playing on a couch with the TV on the opposite wall, 8-10+ feet away from them. My TV is about 10 feet away from me when I play, and I can no way see if that progress bar has moved up by 1%, even if I lean forward and stare at it. And I have perfect vision.
Please, put it back to percentages.
