Bring back the old Hyperspace!

New one is much better for me, no massive fps drop at the start, and more importantly my ship doesn't stick out of the top of the "tunnel", it always felt a little silly clipping through the roof!

I'm glad they got rid of the disco lighting we saw in beta though :)

I second this too!

I almost hate the new hyperspace. There are still some variations but they mostly look the same, and to top it off, I keep seeing jarring straight edges where the sprites or volumes fail to blend correctly. Maybe it's my hardware or something but I doubt it. I think they didn't scale properly when they stretched out the hyperspace tunnel to fit the biggest ships in.

I like both versions, but prefer the newer. As far as graphical bugs, I haven't noticed the ones you mention. However, the old version did have a bug (for me) when flying the Corvette: it looked like the part of the streaking effect (sprite?) which should've above my ship instead went straight through my cockpit at "eye" level. Only happened on the Corvette and it was unnerving. Problem fixed in the new version.

I did start a thread about this, all I see is picture frames of stars and clouds. The blending is bloody awful fix it FD, I am still 60k ly away from sol and just cannot look at the rubbish HS sequence for 2000 times to get home.

I like the star effect but that framed stars, clouds etc is bloody awful.

weeeeeeellll .... I wasn't going to post a complaint about it, but since we are here -

1. The FOV is stretched so much the edges of the textures show as stright lines - and that kills me =/
2. The FOV is so stretched the "clouds" appear to actually fly through my cockpit.
3. The stutter is worse than ever - and I mean ever.
4. Did I mention the stright lines ... ugh

Nature does not produce straight lines.

Yeah, bassically I kinda prefer the pre-2.1 Witch space. I used to enjoy the beauty and majesty of traveling through witch space, (and always on the lookout for the Dolphins) but now I cringe and shake my head in shame every time I see a stright line and the suspention of my disbelief is ... suspended.
