Bring back the Planet Coaster scenery.

Forget cross platform, forget co-op and multiplayer, forget leader boards. What I want from this new game is more rides and scenery sets.

Pirates, wild west, fantasy, futuristic. These are considered the basic theme park themes, they were sufficiently done in the last game, yet they are completely absent from this new one.
If you really want players to love this game, give these artists a wider pallet of colours.

Here's a thought, is is possible you could adapt the old scenery sets for the new game? I'm no programmer but I imagine it can't be that hard, they look like they're made from the same code.

Yes please. But i honestly think it should come later. I think new items should be made first. And id honestly be happy to pay for a big planet coaster 1 content pack. As long as its not a lazy replacment for not having to make new items for the game and isnt a simple cash grab.

As these scenery pieces already were created for PC1 they could import it into PC2 and release them in free updates... It doesn't seem to be very different to how they are in PC2, so it might not need as much effort to do so.

And if it would work that way they could provide themes from PZ, too.

This is not as simple as you guys think. The only thing that would be salvageable is the original models. All of the textures and/or materials would have to be remade for the new version of the game because the new version of the game more then likely is using 8k images now. PC1 used 2k materials MAX. PC2 is of higher resolution but not just that. The Materials them selfs would also need to be scalable. So ALL textures would need to be re-made from scratch.

I don't know how it would work, but all of those scenery pieces have been "invented" already. They just have to put them into the game somehow...

Its not that simple. I would like all of the PC1 stuff to work with PC2 features. Like scaling and re colouring.
So many items from the first game were not even re colourable.

What your thinking is called Porting. Its where you take a model from 1 game and put it into another game. This is NOT easy to do. Usually the model it self is very buggy. The reason its bugged is because it was compiled for a different game. Then scaling is a issue. You cant just simply enlarge an image without artifacts being produced. So the ONLY way around this is to start with a Large image and shrink it. The first games images are 2k or smaller. So again the materials or textures will have to be remade for every model because now every model will need to be scalable. In fact its much easier to remake all of the models for the new game, then to Port old models. I made 750 tmtk models for planet coaster 1 all original art. When or IF frontier gets around to giving us a TMTK2 for planet coaster 2. I will remake every thing as if it was not built before. That will be the fastest, bug free way to do it.

With this logic, would you spend the time remaking the OLD game in the New game. OR spend the time making a NEW game?
Just food for thought. Do you want a new game or do you want a Updated OLD game?

Honestly? I want updated old game. (I loved the old game)

Same, i recently launched it up again and yes it does feel better in a lot of ways. Sure I miss some new features, like being able to copy&paste paths, but planet coaster 1 just 'felt' more complete and more optimized especially for PC.

But having all the stuff from PC1 thatI can stick to the rides so it moves... ungh. Yeah, that would be so good.

I think many of us (myself definitely included...) had considered that this was a CONTINUATION of PC1, building on it with improvements, and not as a completely new game that pretty much starts over from scratch it seems.

I think we can see this in all the requests for missing themes and features from PC1, and also in the expectation that most of those items would be in the game from the start and not possibly dribbled out over the same amount of time as they were in PC1. It's understandable too, when much of PC2 - like the peeps, many of the coasters, rides and scenery - are pretty much near clones of what we already had, at least in outward appearance. And this pretty much was hyped as being an expanded PC1.

To be honest, if I had known that this wasn't meant as a continuation of PC1, with much of it's content but with new features and content added, I'm not 100% certain I would have bought it at launch, thinking it was going to take months again to get close to what it had before. Pools and such don't hold my attention that long personally. I completely understand that others really enjoy them, which is great.

Yes I think there was no one that would have expected so much stuff to be missing. I always knew deep down inside that some rides or coasters might be added later as some form of DLC. Sure I understand that. But basic material and scenery pieces? We have the "panel" set, yet some panels like the arches are missing... While we had this exact piece in the first game. But not in the second? There has been 0 quality control. Yes I dont say that lightly, zero quality control. Because in the first game we were also missing some pieces. Like some materials had some arches and others didn't. But to make the same mistake again? Or make it even worse? Nobody would have expected that. So yeah, this game felt so rushed. No quality control. I'm assuming when making scenery pieces there is a checklist to make sure every piece for every material is included. But it seems like very sloppy how this game was released and passed final quality control. What bothers me most is that it is such a small and minor thing to fix. It wouldn't take more than an hour. But we get no communication about it. Same with path kerbs. Still no word about that and it has been 2 months already.

Sure materials like gingerbread, they can be a themed DLC. But we should have all panel wall pieces and I am also missing the rough and smooth concrete pieces.

Exactly. I seriously would have thought that there was some sort of master checklist listing all the standard building pieces needed, and then for each theme they would have just gone through and created one of each for each and every theme. Obviously they didn't in PC1.

Sadly I don't recall who it was who posted a detailed comparison here on the forums that showed all the pieces from the building sets in PC1, along with signs, etc., and pointed out the items that were missing. That was years ago, back when they were still releasing DLC for PC1. They never did fill in what was missing. More than once I'd go to build something, only to discover one piece was missing and having to use a similar piece from another theme wouldn't work...

One would think that if there was quality control in place the sets would all be complete, but instead I get the feeling that different people created different things, at different speeds, and they were just all dumped together to meet a deadline, finished or not, and no further time was allotted to complete them, even when shown what was missing.

Yes I agree especially this last part. But it should still be an easy fix. But they dont seem to care somehow...

I think what happened is a lot of the old staff left and new devs made PC2 yet David Braben who made RCT3 is in the PC2 credits. They probably rushed it out before the holidays and will fix more things into the new year.
