Wrong guess. They farm the same rock, logging after harvesting it to set it back how it was. Not my idea of good game-play because it would be very repetative but whatever floats their boat.
Bring back the profitability of core mining PLEASE!

I do miss the Void Opal rush. I had a lot of fun with that.
Other credit-making methods have now superseded it, but it was fun while it lasted. You can still make OK money doing core mining (depending on your idea of OK).
Back when I started the game making a few million in an hour was a gold rush, so I think all the current methods are pretty darn good

Erm...so how much cash do you currently have in game?
Again this is only if your in a wing of 4... Pigeon holed into wing farming...
It's frustrating when these avenues are forced by the game creator. Not ever player wants to do the same thing to grind cash... would it really be that hard for Fdev to increase the number of cores that spawn in hot spots and to increase the number of SSD laden rocks to bring back some variety to mining???
I can appreciate people mentioning the "other avenues" to earn cash, but this isn't the point of my post, as a long term player who's done most of his game life solo, who walked away after the launch of odyssey as it was such a HUGE disappointment at launch but came back because I had years invested in this game... I just don't want to keep doing the same grind to sustain, especially being stuck in a time zone that prevents me from ever selling at peak prices... The markets are broken and have been forever and at least you have an option to do combat missions now instead of just surface mine or space truck... the real question is why cant there be even more variety? Especially if all they have to do is adjust some prices/demand/spawn rates.
If you're asking about cash instead of addressing how out of date SSD and core mining are and how irrelevant they've become to present game play forcing the profitable mining to be winged surface mining, you've missed the point of this post.
Well i thought your complaint was all about cash? That was why i asked how much you have, i have a mostly upgraded Krait Phantom (not engineered) and about 35 million credits to my name. I don't feel the need to 'farm up cash', so maybe you have less than i do, and if that is the case i could give you some of my newbie pointers on how i made my 35 million if you like?
No it isn't. A noob on their own using an unengineered vulture can make 150 to 200 mil an hour after a few trips to rep-up. First trip will give about 35 mil per hour, second one around a 80 mil/hr: Here's my vid that's a complete walthrough on how to do it. Help yourself to an easy fortune:
