These were great in the earlier games - made better by the identikit faces (more FE2 than FFE). Really added to the atmos
Especially when an NPC lied and said there'd be no trouble and then when you jumped you got interdicted with another NPC saying "you'll pay for dealing with 'character'!!"
But yeah - a bit of interaction would go a long way instead of just the accept / decline button
