bring hal9000 to life!

I really like this games immersion!
I like when female computer voice tells me that my shields are offline and hull integrity is compromised.. And i want more of it! i want her to react to my commands, mark jump routes, read all those galaxy news out loud when im inside the station. mumble can read and talk, voice attack can push my buttons ( ) when i ask it to, mix those two and make it more responsive to in-game situations and we will have HAL 9000 aboard!

Knowing how much Elite "borrowed" from Odyssey 2001 I think it would be too much. On top of that, HAL is not just some AI. He really has personality and on top of that - how would you make him victim?

PS: Yes HAL is victim of government just like all others on Discovery. He tried to warn them indirectly trough chess game and other details since it was forbidden to him to say anything about it. Do you really think most of players would have time for such things?

PSS I adore Odyssey series and after 2001, 2010 and 2061, I just need to read 3001.

Its already in the works/done. Google "Elite voice command" and that should pull it up. Of course you also need Voice Attack on your pc. I haven't bought it myself but it sounds awesome.
