Bring Stored Ships To You?

Hey all, so I took a small break from the game when I heard that they might wipe all saves again just before the game went live, (which they ended up not doing, so I didn't need to take the break anyway...) But after the game went live, the first thing I did was go to Empire Space in my sidewinder. I'd completely forgotten I had a free Eagle sitting in my starting system.

I blame no one but myself, as my predicament happened entirely because I made assumptions that ended up not being true, and my own forgetfulness. But now I'm like 200Ly from my starting system, and I was just sure that Frontier had said a few times that you could pay to have stored ships moved to your current system, is that in the game yet? Or is it still coming in a future patch?

I hope they implement this soon. It makes it difficult to change home systems unless you are willing to abandon equipment.

Nah, just fly 'keeper' ship to 'home planet', buy cheap sidewinder, upgrade FSD, fly to system with 'keeper ship 2', sell cheap sidewinder, fly 'keeper ship 2' to 'home system', rince and repeat for all your ships.
But granted, it would be nice with a taxi service :)

I think it would be more realistic for you as a pilot to (if you dont want to travel with your ship) store your ship at the station you are currently in and then you could pay for a ride to another system as a passenger on a random freighter to one of your other stored ships...

if the pilot doing this was me i wouldn´t want some random nobody sitting in my cockpit ^^

this I what I envisioned a for of space bound travel liners, however paying a haulage company to bring you your stored ship would be ok as well.

Agree - but I tend to use a Hauler for getting my ships - strip it and change the FSD - it got a bigger jump range :)

Yeah, as a result of me not planning things out and going out in my sidewinder instead of my Eagle, I've had to buy little upgrades here and there as I traveled towards Achenar. Now my "free" Sidewinder has like 500,000 credits slowly invested into it over the time I took traveling, when it would've been smarter to just spend that on a Cobra or something.

The only upside is that I've had player pirates attack me, expecting an easy kill, only to die after they realized they weren't dealing with a stock starter ship. I must admit It's quite satisfying to take out people in cobras, vipers and pythons with my little Sidey.
