Idea for Bringing back the distress beacon
i think we should bring back the distress beacon. I know many people have talked about it and FD didnt think it was necessary, but I think it could be brought back in a way that can make the game more interesting.
I say we bring it back less as a "Bring me an NPC fuel truck" button and more as an actual distress beacon that everyone in system can see. Have it so that once activated it creates a site like a USS that people can see in system and drop out of SC at it. Players can see it and come to help if they are nice enough, or pirates can prey on a weak target, or use it to lure unsuspecting people into a trap. Maybe have an audio and visual warning when the ship you have targeted activates a distress beacon, like with the FSD charge.
Maybe after a certain time of it being activated, an NPC security squad will come to investigate, or a fuel truck, or even a possible repair ship for if your engines get shot up and you cant fix them.
Opinions? Thoughts? Has it already been suggested?
