Broken 2.4 mission system

Frontier must hate mining. Gurus - pristine metalic - not one single mining mission. Broken game or no interest in mining? I thought this new mission system would be an improvement. It was nothing short of a comedy of errors and a humiliation to frontier.

1) don't do that rubbish again and give stupid rewards.
2) why is trading not linked? If I mine and sell why do I not see things made with that trade increase in the station?
3) same for other things. If I sell goods needed in the manufacture of other goods I want to see the effect. More of those goods produced - with a price drop for over production
4) if a system has a pristine mining belt it should have a mining platform. Where are they? There are no mining systems. Shouldn't there be mining like high tech and industrial?
5) you need to have a frag counter measure - like a fragment resistant shield which is also resistant to multi-cannon so that the variety of weapons can come back. Right now it's click click click. Shield down. Click click click. Ship dead. It has to be rock paper scissors. It's the only way. (energy weapons to take down shields, kinetic weapons to take down hull.) Fragments take down hull the fastest but must be useless against shields. Personally it does not make sense. A hull should be more resistant to fragment and multi-cannon. The slow shot miss most times cannon should be the best at hull damage. Why is this not the case? Fragments and multi perhaps should be more a jack of all, can take down shields and hull both but not as well as the specialist weapons.

Weapon type hull damage shield damage
--------- --------- -------------- -----------------
beam energy none very high (overheats and drains cap fast)
burst energy low high (very high in burst)
pulse energy low high (but more damage over time than beam or burst)
plasma mixed high high (gets through resistance but overheats and can miss)
frag kinetic medium medium
multi kinetic medium low (more ammo)
cannon kinetic very high none
rail special high module damage - gets through shield and hull
torp blask very high none
missile blast high none (more of them)
mine blast AOE high to those close to it. can have one that takes down shields and one that takes down hull)

Look at the community goal. 8000 contributors when 2.4 came out now barely 3000

They're called Extraction rather than Mining, and are more common on the fringes of the Sol bubble where pristine reserves are also more common. (They're less good for doing your own mining in, as they have surpluses of mined goods, so you can't sell most of what you collect for a decent price)

Not every system generates mining missions - but there are plenty of systems which do, to the extent that I've seen plenty of people complaining that there are too many mining missions being generated.

Generally for miners and mining missions, I would like to see stations with provision for ships of all sizes actually within the belt itself, placed such that they can only be detected from within the belt so that you have to navigate the belt itself to deliver your haul or hand in your mission. If you are not into combat, flying in ED is fairly tame most of the time, so I think this kind of thing would be an interesting, possibly risky, fun thing to do - considering most miners fly large unwieldy ships that handle like wet socks.

Thoughts?
