Broken/borked game mechanics

The whole last year and part of this year I was doing normal trading from A-b and back.
Everything is working fine for me as long as I do that. Sure there are the interdiction mini games that are weirdly random, but most of the time I don't have much of a problem with the game.

You start noticing more and more of game breaking mechanics, as they are not really bugs, when you do something else than purely trading. Once you start doing missions or want to smuggle the game is start showing it's ugly broken face.

  • System authority vessels in empty systems
  • Interdictions 1 second after you come out of a jump
  • NPCs that pop out of Frame Shift directly beside you, when the radar was clear.
  • NPCs that interdict you, when for the longest time everything behind you was clear
  • System authority vessels that only can't scan you if you behind them. Doesn't matter if you use chaff, silent running or heat sinks
  • Interdictions that can't be won no matter how long you stay in the circle, or interdictions that you win after 2 seconds and you are still wondering     did just happen?
  • Chain interdictions, where you get up to 4-5 of them after you won the last.

I've listed only the most annoying game mechanics, but it seems to me, that the NPCs are in a way broken to give them a chance against players. I always hated NPCs that need to cheat because they are bad. I know that with the upcoming patch in 2-3 month the AI is supposed to be better, but they will still have these broken mechanics.

Totally agreed and this has been mentioned several times before and sarah told us with 2.1 the AI gets an update. Let's hope it's a major one.

The most broken mechanic of all is the fact that you can stack infinite slaves in infinite smuggeling missions. Why are somone paying millions for a one hour job? Why not go over to the neighbour system where slaves are legal?

+1. I agree with all of these items, but we live with what we're given. I've lowered my expectations as far as immersion breaking things like this. I just expect them to happen and play on.

The chain interdictions after you win them are particularly annoying, but I figure I brought them on myself by taking certain missions. PowerPlay also adds to these.

The NPCs spawning next to you are also due to certain missions and possible PowerPlay. The ones that spawn directly in front of you are random and can be a problem.

If you stop caring so much, it gets better. A little apathy goes a long way.

I want to do more than just normal trading and exploring. Everything that includes NPCs at the moment is mechanically broken in a way, that it doesn't make fun to play right now, at least for me.
