Bromelite - the where do I find it I am lazy thread.

So I've decide to upgrade my PA's but neglected to open the invite from Bill until last night. TBH I thought it was junk mail and left in a draw in the kitchen. :x

I need Bromelite so before I outfit my Asp for the job can any of my kind fellow CMDR's suggest a good central bubble location for obtaining said commodity?

I don't even know if it's ice or metallic rings for sure... I think it's Ice rings right?? [up]

Go to LFT 65. It has pristine rings. Planet 1 has metal rich/icy, 2 has rocky/icy, 4 has metallic/rocky.
It's about 30ly from Sol and I call it miner's paradise.
The main star is a white dwarf too.
:D

It is Ice Ring, and not that uncommon of a material, just time consuming to collect.
Another option with some higher profits, is to gather it from Mission Rewards. Finding missions giving Commodity: Bomellite (4) is generally not that difficult, and you'll make a good bit more in credits as it will take 13 missions to collect 50 Bromellite this way, but it will save you the trouble of mining it.

Thanks CMDR's +1's all round!

I'm seeing my shrink next week so I might as well get some value out of the session so I'll go mining for it

You might be able to use bromellite obtained from passenger mission rewards, but it'll probably take longer and you'll likely get interdicted a lot while you're collecting it.
Also if I remember correctly you need the Alioth permit before you can give him the goods, don't recommend hauling that much about while trying to get allied with the faction

Mining is a nice cathartic activity, once you deal with the ubiquitous wave of pirates that will greet you, even 1000 Ly outside the bubble. As long as you've nothing but limpets they'll go away after a butter-knife sharp reparté, leaving you to mine in peace. Mining is my favorite thing to do when I want to be on Elite but don't really want to play Elite, and Ice Mining, while it does not boast the pure profit margins of Pristine Metallic ring mining, does have some spectacular views.

Just some very basic junk ice-mining to show off the view.

I can't believe I watched that for 5 minutes!! I feel like you owe me at least 10 tonnes of Bromelite :D

This. Make sure that you have the Alioth permit BEFORE you start mining or collecting bromellite.

Most important - you can turn off the computer voice. It makes mining far more enjoyable.

Also. Set up a fire group for mining. Bind all your mining lasers and collector controllers to the primary button, and the prospector to the other. Then you never need to worry about deploying collectors, as it happens automatically.

Hi Gunner.
Asteroid belts are also a good place to mine, They are also permanent.

COL 285 SECTOR EI-I C10-13 B B is not that far and has 10 clusters. You will definately get it there.

Mine with a mate and double the yield.
