Brown dwarfs and planets with life

10 000ly from sol and my destination is sagittarius A! I haven't found any earth kind planets so far i have found lots of ammonia, water worlds and gas giants with life so earth kinds must be veeery rare? But anyway i even found ammonia water world orbiting class Y dwarf 0.03AU so this make me wonder is anyone ever found earth kind planet orbitin drown dwarf? Is that even possible? because if it is it would be super rare!!! Astronomers say those can't even have planets with life but elite says other wise;-D

Not possible - too cool. I would be stunned if FD allowed even 1. ELWs are hard to find even if you only look at the right kind of stars. I'm afraid it's pot luck.

FGK stars will be more likely candidates for ELWs. They're rare but if you look long enough you'll find a handful, I found 3 untagged within 2kly of the bubble and I'm sure there are many more that close

The problem is really how life is defined, single cell life and similar simple life can survive in some insanely extreme environments even here on earth, so yeah.. I mean we haven't visited a water world orbiting a y star, so it is entirely possible we go there and find that life exists or has existed there.
Life can exist in situations where we would think it couldn't.
And at least from my experience while exploring so far, it looks like you've found something rare, maybe it is just that..rare?

This...Just think about what life is on earth. Creatures that are microscopic live in the rocks at the bottom of the Pacific. Organisms that live in poisonous (to us) rivers. Real Astronomers don't write off the "impossible" worlds just based on what they think they understand. Just remember Vulcan and the aether! Both of those "had" to exist.

This is what i like this game! Even exploring is dull most of the time you go G2V and find out there is nothting here next K1V icy planets and moons and then you randomly just go some system where you expect to be nothing and you found just something very rare and unique.

I do believe it is possible to find ELW around m class stars. I never have but I have found water worlds around them.

I have found a bunch And I'm 2000ly from Sag. I just filter the stars out to f, g, k, m, and l stars found these to the other day. Not sure what you would call that orbit. Sat_Feb_20_23-32-19_EST_2016-1.png

Off-topic. I tried to rob you that one time.. if only instancing or the interdiction itself that are both broken didn't mess up there I would've had you.. :(

Hi.

Nevermind I just saw your GT in your sig.. there was actually a CMDR Han Solo that I tried to rob.

Oh and it's a binary orbit.

23000ly behind and less than 4ly to the sagittarius A i have found nine earth likes! One is orbiting two M class stars 0.53 AU distance and is binary locked. I dont know is it possible that brown dwars have earth kinds but i have notice that many pilots just awoid them because they are not very valuable objects to chart! I do same thing and awoid them so it's possible we just miss the ones which have planets close enough!?

^^Sorry meant tidally locked:)^^

When talking about life they always assume Alien life have the same needs to exist as we do. As life as we know it.

This one of the main reasons why they havn't found alien life yet.

For all i care there are species that are breathing fire and pie ice cubes.. we dont know..

Life, can exist everywhere if you'd ask me.

EDIT:

Even here i go in the wrong since, who said all living "things" need to breath?

Possible, but unlikely around an L-class dwarf.

T and Y class dwarfs are simply not hot enough throughout their lifetime. Some y class 'stars' are below freezing in temperature.
