BT postpones my E: D Alpha

Alpha woes thread.
I'll start with mine.

BT and the local energy contractor have conspired to prevent me participating in the Alpha.:S

During some work being carried out up the road today all the phone services in my area are down. The BT site says the problem is known but states a resolution date of midnight on the 13th.

So Frontier take you time no rush for Alpha testing to start this week.

I support the Alpha being delaed until Void is ready.

Its the right thing to do.

Depending on the download size, if you have a smartphone you could use it as a tethered modem. I doubt the Alpha will need a persistent online connection to play but you have to download it first of course.

I would of course be able to burn it to CD and post it to you if you wanted?

There are maps, usually more or less precise, that show where everything is, but often they don't use them or have bad staff that can't read them.

It is a legal requirement by BT (which is now called Openreach that takes care of all the Infrastructure)and It's contractors that if any part of the ground needs to be broken from a spade to a pole erection Unit that they must register on a couple of websites to determine if High pressure gas mains and HV cables are not in the area. Its usually third party companies that damages cables or its just plain theft of cables by local scumbags

One of my personal problems at the moment is that I have just come home from work and found out that the dog has taken a dump on the carpet.

I have been eagerly awaiting your new thread. It's worse than waiting for alpha. COME ON!

Dog/Dump update.....

I have managed to clean it up but didn't tell the dog off or anything because a similar situation happened to a friend of mine a while back....

I was around at a friend's house recently and his dog 'dumped' on the carpet. My friend went crazy at the dog shouting all sorts of bad language at it and then said to the dog, 'Did you do that?' I felt really sorry for the dog so I said I did it.

that the Alpha doesn't start on either Thursday, Friday where I have my compulsory weekly out door activities (Advice from my Head-Shrink.) and music. As well as Saturday where we are having our annual Christmas party. I may cancel going to the latter if need be.
