Bubble life questions

I'm floating around the bubble catching up for beers with the engineers and doing a bit of side work with the Empire to curry favour so I can snag one of their ships.

First dumb question;
What does pinning an engineer blueprint mean and do? If I got a really good result on something, can I pin it and apply that exact same to result to an endleas stream of modules for example?

Did it become easier to earn credits at some point? I'm spending time in Aditi since they have loads of missions going to a neighbouring system which has loads of missions in Aditi. Load up, fly back and forth, loads of rep and occasional engineering items. All good.
But some of these missions are ridiculous. Eg. I had 500k and a 300k mission to scan a data point using the srv. The mystery location is ALWAYS the first landable planet you choose, and both missions always seem to end up at exactly the same co-ords despite jumping around as you near. So it's literally, pick nearest landable, fly towards it, wait for the special marker to appearb follow marker, land, srv to the pillar and do datascan, return to station. 800k. No sense of achievement. There's also a bunch of 20-40k missions delivering data which is more what I'd expect, but these huge payouts aren't uncommon. I even saw something like 1.2m to deliver 12 ton of beer 280ly away! Didn't do it cos I have a hold full of enginerring stuff I need to use up.
Is this 'normal' now or is this a broken pair of systems?

If I get a big ship with a fighter.....does the combat rating apply to me or the fighter pilot? Let's say I jump in the fighter and knock the enemy down to 20% and then let the pilot finish them off. I don't *really* want to increase my combat rating but if I give mining/trading a crack, I'm not about to be a sitting duck either :)

Welcome to the brave new world Cmdr...

May be wrong but, I understand that pinning just allows you to see the mats you need for a particular upgrade ('cos the forums / Inara etc. don't exist).

You've missed the delights of Sothis / Ceos, subsequent correction/nerfing (dependant on viewpoint), missed all the furore over missions paying to much / missions paying too little / missions being too hard / missions being too easy.

Not tried SLF yet so not able to answer ratings question.
