Newcomer / Intro Bubble to Colonia and back passenger missions

In future I want to divide my playing time between the bubble and Colonia. I'm interested in making as many credits as I can out of the trip when I make it. So I am thinking fit 5 passenger cabins in an Anaconda with scoop, FSD booster and AFMU and I still get 60ly jump range.
Is anyone successfully filling 5 cabins - mix of first, business and one small economy in both directions on the bubble - Colonia run?
Any tips on which stations at each end reliably have passengers for this route?
I'll scout around myself Colonia end if no one knows.

Hi, not sure of your experience/playstyle,
but if you want to make the trip much more profitable, I'd recommend using the Road-to-riches tool...
So much exploration data ... and it can help with that feeling of jumponotony!
...maybe even use the 'economical route' setting occasionally - that way you may also get some first discovery bonuses (x3 payout)...
I would fit a DSS (pref engineered) instead of a cabin ... 15 or so scans of first discovered systems will net more than 50 million ... and SRV too :D
These are just my opinions though, may not be your thing :giggle:

From what I understand most of those missions require a round trip, so you have to fly all the way out and then back to get paid. Might want to confirm that. 😊

I've done road to riches in a Hauler, ASP X and Phantom for practical reasons a number of times. I banned myself from using it before I made it to Elite explorer and I only use the tech broker engineered DSS on ELWs and water waters I am first discover for. I don't spent time scanning anything else. I will do a sight seeing tour Colonia to the bubble and after that it's profitable passenger missions or I just sprint the route as fast as I can. If I want to hunt ELWs I'll go in the centre of the galaxy where they are found in relative abundance, sometimes as many as 1 in 55 systems.
I'm not trying to grind out as many credits as possible - not fun - just seeing if the one way passenger run idea works.
Not seen any passenger missions to the bubble from Colonia yet. I guess the idea won't work out.

Hey, no worries ... didn't know your experience with different options :giggle:
Let me know if you find any Colonia -> bubble passenger missions .... |'m considering heading out to the big C in the near future .... 💫

OK will do. Jaques Station seemed the most likely candidate (busiest station in Elite) but there was nothing going in the direction of the Bubble.
If you want to do passenger sight seeing missions while you are in Colonia, the Diggidiggi system seems to have the most passengers wanting to see some common tourist beacons within the small 80ly across Colonia bubble. You don't need big jump ranges or fuel scoops here, and something the size of an Orca or Dolphin works well, although any non-combat medium ship will do. Beluga seems to have more cabins than you can fill if you like putting a circuit together with 2 or 3 stops.
The best things about Colonia seem to be, a good base for exploring the area, higher star density, and you can sprint to Sagittarius A* using neutron star boosts in about an hour and a half despite the fact it's 12,000ly away - assuming you bring an exploration ship capable of 65-70ly+ jump range.
Because everything is tightly packed, ships like the FDL and Mamba are not a pain to move around, and there are plenty of HazRes and conflict zone locations. Core mining and laser mining is OK for something to do while you're here, but general trading is pointless if your trying for maximum profits. It's hard to find routes and profit per ton potential is not great. Using engineers is convenient if you qualify to use them before you get here due to them all being in close proximity, but gathering materials can be a challenge compared to the bubble. Best to stock up on materials for engineering projects you want to do in Colonia before leaving the bubble. Nothing Guardian related can be found here at all.

Hey, @CMDRQuainMarln are you taking part in the latest community goal? I may be able to get out there sooner than I thought :D Currently delivering stuff to Alcor ... and increasing funds... my be able to afford the 3.5 billion if I deliver for the next few days ... 🤭

I took a look at the goal and realised out of my current ships 204T cargo capacity is the most I can muster (Krait II), or I'm buying a Type 9 Heavy. I've not bothered with big cargo capacity ships out here because the best trading routes I can find top out at around 14,000 credits profit per ton, where in the bubble 20,000 to 26,000 per ton is typical.
Given the target, I won't be able to make much of a dent in it with 204T. I suppose it is an excuse to play with a Type 9 Heavy that I've not used before.
I will do at least a few runs, even if only 204T per run just to contribute something.
Diggidiggi is still the best place I can for tourist passenger missions in a good volume. I bought an Orca to play with doing them and can make around 37 to 45 million an hour with it. It's no Robigo Mines, but there is more variety of locations all close together including Lagrange Clouds. Similar tourist missions run out of most stations, just not at quite the same volume as Diggidiggi. No need for a fuel scoop, and you could even run with a 16T fuel tank on a ship with a class 5 FSD here.

I've done much in the type 9 ... it paid for the Cutter I use at the moment... it is not so bad, just a little slow in controls, but interdictions can be escaped on most occasions - and it doesn't get mass locked... I'd recommend engineering thrusters and power distributor though... just in case you have to submit to an interdiction... but, you may already know this
I think that the CG is balanced toward Colonia by a factor of around 5? So your 204t would be more of a contribution than my 704t Cutter can muster :D

I did a couple of runs in a 180T capacity Orca and then bought a T9. It only took a couple of runs to get into top 50% of contributors. I borrowed some 6A thruster with dirty G5 plus drag because I don't want to sink the engineering material into 7A thrusters I might not use for long. Put the fighter bay and some spare engineered weapons into it. Managed to win interdictions so far. It's a comically slow handling ship that hauls 688T of cargo with the fighter bay and engineered 6C bi-weave shields also borrowed from the Krait.
The problem is stocks of required materials available is not even half the cargo capacity except for the Ceramics which don't make much profit per run.

Yeah, sounds frustrating/slow going... hopefully enough people will get on-board and we'll get the discount and all the ships!
Feel free to add me in game (y)
See you out in the black CMDR 💫

You guys did it !
Hope that us over here are able to complete too :giggle:
I've delivered over 30,000t so far... looking forward to the trip out there ☄️
Now then, just need to earn another 1.5 billion or so credits ... 🤣
