Budgies in HyperSpace???

I just had to ask if anyone else finds it odd that while you are jumping through HyperSpace, one of the sound effects sounds IDENTICAL to a couple of Budgies carrying on in their cage?

I actually own TWO of these little guys and they are carrying on in one of our spare bedrooms down the hall from the living room where I am playing ED. I can hear them through the bedroom door, and I can hear what sounds like more of them coming out of my Surround Sound System as I travel through HyperSpace! lol!

I don't think the developers intended this particular sound effect to be a practical dead ringer for a Budgie (Parakeet), but they sure did a good job of nailing what they sound like! LOL!

Is there any chance they might be able to come up with some other HyperSpace sound effects that don't sound like birds chirping????

Well that's creative xD

I like the bird sounds in hyperspace and the slow whistling fuel scooping makes.
Anyone else think the Asp sounds like a Spitfire sometimes?

Definitely some kind of "propeller" driven aircraft from WWII for sure! First time I took mine out I was shocked by how LOUD it was when making turns in normal space. Coming from a Cobra MK II with that cool JET sounding maneuvering thruster sounds, I still have to say I prefer the sound of the Cobra over the ASP.

A piston engine aircraft sound just doesn't seem to go with a spaceship! :/ I wish they would come up with some more convincing sound effects than this for the ASP. I really like the ship overall, but not crazy about the sound of the thing to be honest.

It most definitely does and while the sound is interesting it was kinda the one and only thing that bugged me about the ship though I've heard most people really love the sound of it it just didn't suit my tastes personally

Yes, I agree - whilst I like the Asp Explorer as a ship, the sound of it blowing raspberries I find to be completely off-putting. My son goes into fits of laughter whenever I imitate the Asp by blowing raspberries. Imagine how nuts I was driven when I went to Sag. A* and beyond in an Asp. Space ships simply should NOT sound like this! :)

I have a cobra mkIII and when I hit boost it sounds like an old transit I had 20 yrs ago rattling and squeaking.

My two favourite ships in the game are the Clipper and the Cobra Mk.III, which is the Millenium Falcon of ED :) She's a bucket of bolts held together by rivets, gaffer tape, and luck, but boy is she a beautiful ship and fun to fly!
