Totally agree that the Oppressor is badly in need of a buff, but I believe a 2-3x damage increase is a bit too much. Very quickly the Oppressor goes from underpowered to stepping on the toes of the Executioner with such a large damage increase. I suggest a more moderate 20% increase at most, in addition to doubling the Oppressor's projectile velocity. The effects of both changes are shown in the graphs below:

I suggest these changes because the Oppressor actually outperforms the AR-50 and Aphelion at Grade 5 / no mods on a stationary target. In my view, its problem isn't really a lack of damage, but rather consistently applying that damage because of that abysmally slow 75 m/s projectile velocity. This compounds with a severe issue with how Odyssey handles Aim Assist:

Max range on the Executioner is ~200m, The person I was replying to claimed kills over 200m, I just checked, Tormentor also has a max range of 200m, so i'm tempted to say plasma weapons (generic) have a max range of 200m So my previous post should read "getting kills close to 200m" and not...forums.frontier.co.uk
TLDR: Odyssey's Aim Assist pulls your rounds to where the target was instead of where it is going.
It appears as though it only considers the case of a hitscan projectile (lasers like the Aphelion and Eclipse). This makes leading moving targets with projectile weapons much more difficult than it should be, especially with the Manticore lineup.
...Oh and it also gets confused when targets are right on top of one another. I've been seeing plenty of that with some Aphelion tests lately.

Depends on the circumstance. Lasers are really good at stripping shields. Against normal scavs who usually don't have much armor they are pretty deadly. I wouldn't use one in a CZ though. I'd like the Aphelion to have a few more shots in the clip if anything.Nah, Oppressor is fine.
If anything the lazors should need an improvement
