bug in comms history

[CMDR Asention]

every time I log in my history in the comms panel resets to December 2019 , any clues as to why and how to fix ?
also, my game runs the timing phase , which is only needed after an update or hardware change every time I log on , even if its from a crash minitus prior .
also, changes made to controls reset to the same as they were in December every time .

There is an issue where the game will not save changes to your control assignments if there is are copies of the binds file in the Options / Bindings directory (even if the file name has been changed). So check you have no copies in that directory, move them elsewhere if so and see if that sorts your controls issue.

BTW - the suggestion by @STRONTIUM DOG about renaming your binds is a good one, I would recommend you do that (only "custom" gets messed up by the game, not renamed ones.)
